Hey guys,

So I decided to take the manifold off while the cab was still on the frame. That was fun...

To the question - the weird, long stud that goes through the center of the exhaust side of things into the block is basically junk, but it's holding back my coolant. I want to take it out (but not drain the coolant) to measure because the generic manual doesn't have specifics on what it is. Does anybody know a good replacement for that specific stud? Any good recs for all the studs while I'm at it? ARP?

Secondly, the carb heat riser flapper doohicky is frozen so I probably will leave it alone, but is there a delete for it?

This is great info!

I have a mixed bag of things. My engine has a stud that was long enough to get 2 nuts on it. ;) Maybe the PO had a leaking exhaust issue too?

Not only that, I think all the special washers were installed backwards (if I'm understanding that thread correctly), and missing one.

Here's how they go:

I think this reinforced flat bottom washer arrangement is intended to allow for good clamping forces -- but with a bit of a tolerance for side motion -- on flange connections that are reacting to thermal expansion and contraction.
