This event put on by Ryan Shelly runs every year. It is in the foothills east of Sacramento. It is a very loosely ran event. No maps are handed out, no radio coordination, raffle, etc. . Much more of a “Follow Me” event.

Here is the text I got from Ryan Shelly:

“Always Presidents’ Day weekend, at (PM @ndnile for address), Somerset ca. off Omo ranch road. We have showers/ bathrooms now. Plenty of trailer parking, we will be up there Thursday- Monday, some might come earlier or later.”

Rather than re-paste stuff I’ve written for previous years I’ll give you a link to last year’s thread:

I got permission from Ryan to post his address.

Location:
7321 Johnson mine road, Somerset ca.

Dates: Camp out starts Thursday Feb 12 to Monday Feb 19. Plenty of room for campers and trailers. Showers and toilets available.

On Saturday he tries to get all the cats herded towards the door by 8am. When you arrive you will be directed to a big meadow down the trail a bit.

Sunday is much lazier. There is no hard departure time.

This sounds like a trip that I need to review my calendar. Are you guys camping or do you have trailers?
@tamnalan has camped there. @Inferno, @RocknTJ and myself live close enough that we just drive from home. @Lookout Ranch also lives close. He doesn’t do the run but usually shows up to meet and greet and take amazing photos of the managerie of rigs that show up.

Folks can bring their Valentine and make a romantic weekend of it.

At the moment, rain is gone from Saturday’s forecast and temperatures have come up a little, though it’s still possible we could have an inch of rain (and snow in the high country) between now and then.
I see light rain forecast for the afternoon. Not good as Stakey does not have functional wipers.

Doug, your app and my app need to talk and get their stories straight.

I like Doug's forecast MUCH better!
Oh reeeeeally. Well maybe I'll take a Commando instead. :D;)

In seriousness, although Stakey is not currently incontinent, he has other issues that I'm working on. Shakin' the bush Doug, shakin' the bush here.
