Willys Year:
Just got this 52 4x4, with no engine. It has a SBC adapter on the bellhousing and square tubing welded to the the crossmember to attach some kind of a saddle mount, the type you just put a single bolt through. I found a cheap 305 and wondered if anyone has done the SBC conversion before and know what clutch disc to run, and perhaps what mounts. I should have the Willys home this weekend and will take some pics of these parts as well as the wagon as a whole. Thanks, 52wagon

Here's the bellhousing with adapter attached.

And the motor mount stands.

Usually, the stock Willys disc will work, IF it is the same O.D. as the GM pressure plate.
Depends on the adapter and whether T90A/T90C or the T90J (or converted to T90J). The latter can use a GM 10 spline disc but the former has to use a Willys disc. I have never seen the adapter bell housing in the OP but would expect that to be set up for the T90J too just because it is a much stronger input shaft.

I believe on Novaks site (or Advance Adapter) they have a writeup on throw-out bearing fit. This is one of the main issues depending on the pressure plate you use.

Actually, I've never seen one that didn't require the "J" box longer input shaft..................................

The "short" adapters are out there. I still have one hanging on the shop wall that came out of something I parted out long ago. The big problem using those is it usually puts the engine into the firewall unless you move everything forward and that produces its own set of problems. However, those would be one method of putting a T90C behind a sbc or other GM engine.
