clutch linkage

hey all joe fom jerz checking in after a long absence , few problems worth noting with the truck til i had to replace the clutch in this 61 pickup with the L6 226 . there is a wing type spring on either side of the clutch release bearing aka throwout bearing , and no fork , just a rod thru...

Decided to replace my 226 engine with a 4.3 Chevy engine. Purchased the Novak transmission adaptor but I am having issues with the clutch linkage. Is a hydraulic clutch linkage system a good idea. Any other ideas or options?
