Well Oiled
Interesting. What's the reason why you decided to put the cab mounts on via hardware vs. welding? Or will they be welded when all is said and done?
Gary, you have accomplished a lot on your project, in just a little over a months work. I appreciate that you bolted your cab mounts onto the frame rather than welding. Seeing the progress you are making is motivating me to get my MG done so I can start on the Willys. I have inspected my Willys many times since you started your built. My cab is in good shape, however my box is not so good.

My box isn’t in great shape either. But I wont let that slow down. I appreciate the comments and want to keep the momentum going. I’m looking forward to driving it out of the garage someday. I took my seat in tonight to get reupholstered. It is going to be done very similar to original except in black. Here is pictures of what they looked like when I took them in.![]()

Boy does that look familiar (see my build thread!). As for the response about the bolt on body mounts, that makes sense, never thought about it that way.

Made good progress tonight. Was able to get the Chevy bumper off. Also fabricated the new brackets off the frame for the bumper from the Willys to fit. Hopefully tomorrow or Sunday I can do the front bumper.

Gary, Great to see that it is all fitted to the Chevy chassis. Not as much fun taking it apart to be able to finish the painting etc. At least that was the feeling I had when I removed the 47 Dodge cab several times from the Dakota chassis to get things lined up etc. It is nice that you could recover some of the cost by reselling parts that you will not need.
If I keep at it I could get my MG finished and get started on the my 1950 Willys chassis swap before spring. Seeing your progress keeps me focused on finishing the MG. Keep up the great work.
How do the wheels center under the front fenders?

Is the donor truck you are using a full size 94 chevy short box or a 94 S10 Short box? In the picture it appears that the wheels do not extend beyond the fenders
as i would have thought they would have it is a full size chevy
Gary, yes the painting gets a bit messy but that is a sign
of the progress you are making.
Gary, you have the best looking air cleaner cover around, way better than black. Are you painting the body to match the cover? Not so sure my wife would be all that interested to come out to the shop you do remember I said it is messy![]()

A solid day today. Got drivetrain back together. Gas tank and shocks installed. Ran all new gas lines and brake lanes. It’s finally starting to look like a truck again.
