Hi Robert. Do you know any of this vehicle's prior history? Like where it came from, where did it haul people at etc? Getting the history of this vehicle will enhance it's value. I've never seen one quite like this one. Very COOL. Post some more pictures of it. Pivnic

Hi Robert,

Welcome to the forum. I'm guessing this was the 1955 cargo personnel carieer that was posted on ewillys.com back in February: http://www.ewillys.com/2015/02/14/willys-cargo-personnel-carrier-project/#more-195529

These also come courtesy of ewillys.com:

Here's a similar one that was for sale in Missouri (curiously with California black plates):

And here is some product literature (again thanks to ewillys):

As soon as I find out more I will post

What I know now is came from so. Cal. to Sonoma county where the engine and Drive train were all gone thru.
it was given to the Ione Parlor Native Sons of the Golden West.

We are hoping to have it at least drivable for the Ione Homecoming parade in may

Around here we would call that a Crummy. A common name for rigs that carry men to work in the woods or on farms. I would think it would be fun to try to find someone who used one and paint it up with a company logo and the company colors. Even if made up. As the newspaper clippings show they were of interest to the Oil industry maybe a Standard Oil CO light blue and Chevron logo. Or maybe something to show a Logging or mining company.

A most interesting rig to restore.

Welcome from San Diego. Nice find Robert! Where in CA are you? Dave

Hi Robert,

This "1954 Willys 4 Wheel Drive Cargo Personnel Carrier Truck Sales Brochure Overland" brochure is on eBay right now (not mine):

Hope the project is going well. Here are a few screenshots of from a video posted on the vintage pictures thread that may be useful:

Robert's been making great progress on the '55 CPC. Here are a few updates.

Status: "Getting closer. The seats will go in tomorrow. We are waiting on rubber for windshield."

Goal: "Working to get done for the Ione Homecoming parade next Saturday the 14th of May."

Nice work Robert. For those in the Sacramento area (or up in the Sierra), this weekend's parade sounds like a great way to spend a Saturday!Willys CPC 2016-05-07 (1).jpgWillys CPC 2016-05-07 (1).jpgWillys CPC 2016-05-07 (2).jpgWillys CPC 2016-05-07 (3).jpg
