OK Dan, we need the story behind that big tank project.
It looks like it was a biggie.
What's with the ropes on the front tow hooks in the 3rd picture?

I'm sure I posted this before, but it truely fits here.
The 3B resting after clearing 19+" of snow from my 150' driveway and 4 car wide garage apron as well as two neighbors' driveways each 100+ ft long.

Hey John,

The short answer is that we were tripling the size of the water storage for our family cabin, adding the large plastic water tank to the existing concrete tank installed in the 1950s. It's completely off the grid and fed by a spring on the property. It was a fun project - the spring is across the ravine about a quarter mile way and the water tanks sit on a rise above the cabin. My dad (chelarrys) is a retired civil engineer, so the system works quite well.

The ropes were just a joke for a photo opp as we were traction-limited going up the hill. The Scramboler has a fuel-injected 350 mated up to an NV4500 plus the stock D300... but the tires slipped and slided. We took a break and someone (my brother?) said, "what don't we pretend to pull the Jeep up the hill???"

Okay, well it's not technically a CJ, Dad took his MB to the California Auto Museum's docent graduation ceremony on Saturday:

On Memorial Day, Dad took his '42 MB up to the car show at the American Auto Museum in downtown Sacramento. It only took 45 minutes driving on back roads...

Guess I should have posted here instead of the general "Where was Your Willys"

Our Memorial Day parade took place despite significant rain.
Since I was at the Moab rally and didn't get home until late Saturday night, I didn't have time or energy to take the Psuedo-Army 2A out of mothballs. Since it rained we were both just as happy to run the 3B instead and left the top up. All the other guys got very wet. We were in line behind an Army Colonel in an Olds convertible. He looked rather bedraggled when we got to the end of the route. We were nice and dry.
:)

This is the only picture - cell phone from 30 yards away - by my wife hiding under a store canopy.
You can barely see my Dad in the passenger seat. He'll be 94 in 3 weeks.

Dad's 1943 GPW/1946 CJ2A has since been painted and reverted back to (mostly) WWII military. In any case, Sgt. Kermit spent the weekend up at the cabin in northern California:

Memorial Day parade. Perfect weather, huge crowd.

My Dad will be 96 yrs old this month. He's still sharp and active.

The Jeep is my '46 2A
