Willys Year:

Says original title. Accordin vin, year manufactured is -56. Title I have, actually book, with several pages, tells a lot of cars history.
Have had lots of minor repairs noticed in inspections every year.
This Willys was taken to use 20.9.1957...until 31.12.1968..only 11 years...
After that she propably was ysed as spare cause missing parts...engine, steering column etc. , and guess was standing behind some barn...

Bought this car few years ago did some minor things with it. First wanted it to be movable, then thinking of rust repairs decided to make some tools...

Ok, roll die. Thanks.

Kuva0297.jpg

Did more rolls so can do floor pans for cargo area, front floor pans etc.
Got gears out of couple old mcs, old parts to new life.
Have to fab own parts, here where I live, costs would be enormous if ordered parts somewhere.
For example front left floorpan would be near 300.

Well at those days thought it would be good idea to get car moveable, so brakes first!

Amazing how easilily everything coulb loose, and amazing how good things look, well stood for deceds...

Kuva0285.jpg

New parts?

Kuva0287.jpg

There!

Kuva0288.jpg

And done, have breaks, well had to do some breaklines too...
Still no engine in it, but those days there were diesel engine for sale...out of Massey Ferguson tractor...
bought it because it already was installed to Willys, took easy way to make car back to life....wrong!
By the way, only some red wheels made it look better

This all happened couple of yars ago, but I am gotting to it soon...

Collected some parts too, whenever somebody offered...

with this came extra springs, timken rearaxle, frontaxle with big drums...
Rare parts here.

Janne - Do you have a Parkway Conversion? It looks like it might be. In any case, nice progress.

Cheers,

Scramboleer

Park away...

Dan, dont know, but vin starts 54248 = delivery?
Liked to have more info about.

There have been few mods, like seats when started to use this wagon -57.
At least title says so...

J

Thank you Dan!
A lot of information. Interesting.

Couple questions pulped into my head...
Did parkways have sliding side windows?
Diamond plate between rear doors and bumper in traveller only? Mine have this.

Also there was places to 8 people, but that was changed by owner. Seat arrangement just like traveller, but inner rearwelss not cut.
Right side front seat can be flipped forward.

Wow Janne. Sounds like you have quite the unique wagon. The Parkways only had solid (fixed) side windows without sliders; the Travellers (1960-1964/1965) had either fixed or sliders. It's my understanding that Parkways don't have the diamond plate rear step (like the attached picture) since Parkways were intended more as delivery vehicles while Travellers moved people around. OWF member Hiki in South Africa generously sent me this rear step from his Traveller:

Traveller rear step - Plate from above.jpg

Traveller rear step - Centre section from bottom.jpg

Traveller rear step - Right end from top.jpg

I have not installed it yet on my Traveller. Is it like yours?

Do you have any pics of what the interior used to look like with the eight seats? The front right passenger seat folds forwards on all wagons (I believe).

My diamond plate isnt that wide, so propably added afterwards.

No, I dont have any pics of seats, can only tell arragement by title(wich is actually a book)

Like to keep those sliding sidewindows, but seals are totally "done". And windows too, yesterday I cracked winshield...

Well, this car is so bad shape, its propably not worth restoration, only rustyration;)

And thank you again Dan!

Thank you Randy

Yesterdey thinking was way ahead but...

Almost fits there, only a bit narrow.
Seats out of 90XJ. What else could I adopt out of it?

J

That XJ seat fits like a glove! I'll be looking for one for my Wagon when I get to working on the interior.

I used XJ buckets and seat belts for my wagon. Not the best choice but if you already have them...
I removed the bracket the seat rails were riveted to and made new mounts for them.
That rear seat looks great--better than the fit from a Scout (free) that I used.

There should be a number of components you could use. I wonder if the air conditioner would fit? Take some pictures of the XJ.
