1957 Willys One-ton Pickup for Sale

Sadly....I have my pickup for sale on Craigslist. Here are the details. Extensive photo gallery with 3 videos is posted to Picasa (link below).

I have decided to sell my pride-and-joy 1957 Willy's Pickup. If you live in the Overland Park area you may have seen this awesome survivor cruising around town running errands over the past 8 years. It is one of the coolest trucks you'll ever see with a face only a mother could love. The truck runs and drives great. I have put a lot of work into it since acquiring it. . .all to make it more enjoyable to drive. I did not put any money into the body or paint. . .preferring it to look like it was earning its living. It has a Warn Overdrive which really helps make it more drivable around town. It has also been converted to have dual master cylinders and front disc brakes. The truck is completely rewired and has been converted to 12V. The truck spent most of its life in Utah so it is nearly rust-free. It has been garaged since it came to Kansas and has not seen rain or snow since it arrived. The truck is priced at $7000 cash and that price is firm. Serious inquiries only.

    Known items:
Fuel sender does not usually talk to the gas gauge all of the time. It usually shows below empty, even when the tank is full. I don't understand why because everything from front to back is new. Probably a bad ground.
Windshield wipers and linkage are complete but the vacuum wiper motor is not strong enough to move the blades back and forth. It either needs a new vacuum wiper motor or an electric wiper conversion (which was my plan).
Floor boards were replaced before I got the truck and will need to be replaced in the future. No danger of going through the floor but there are some small holes that have been there since I acquired the car and have not grown.

Welcome to the Forum ChuckMick. Very NICE Pickup, Sad indeed that you are selling it. I too have a 57 Willys Pickup (Hot Rodded)... Good presentation on your For Sale Ad. (When is it NOT WINDY in Kansas)? I went to college in Emporia and IF it Wasn't windy, you thought that something was wrong! Good luck with letting your pickup go. Pivnic

Thanks. Yeah....sad to see it go but it is not the vehicle I want my 16-year-old to be driving on a daily basis. It turns heads wherever it goes and it seems I can't go anywhere without having to field questions about what it is, how old it is, where I got it, etc... I will really miss that part! Someone with some very basic paint and body skills could easily have a $15,000 vehicle. I don't have those skills or time.
