What do you use to keep your area cool in the summer?
I came across this at work, had 1 of the blades welded back together, put new 1.00" shaft bearings in,and back in service. Was to be thrown away! Ran almost day and nite in our heat treat facility. 42" blades 3/4 hp single high speed motor, belt driven. Does great in keeping things cool to be able to get the wagon back on the road.
Like to see what you guys are using.

I don't have a picture but I do have a 36"dia smaller version that is two speed.
I set it in the back of the garage inside the back door where the cooler shady backyard is.
It is a great air mover. Being back there I can still hear the music on the radio near my truck work space.

Cheers.

I hate heat. I've always loved fall, winter, spring...and going to high elevations in the summer. I'd show you a picture of my shade tree, but I'm 2,800 miles from it right now. :(

Woof! Dang,I think I'd be hanging it up til fall Larry. I been watching it on the news. Our next door neighbor got an offer he couldn't refuse to relocate to Tucson and work for Raytheon. We've often wondered how their managing being born n raised in Ohio. We ain't used to that kinda heat!

How I stay cool outside during the summer

1)The POS Box, better'n nada. At least it moves the 100+ degree air. 2)The Beast! Loud and moves a hell of a lot of air. So much that it actually feels cool. 3)The Wet Vest. The key to not being miserably hot, doing anything outside in Central Texas during the summer. Soak it in water, put it on over a T shirt and it cools you for a few hours. Repeat. One of the best $35 investments I've ever made. @ Cycle Gear.

That's a cool looking paddy wagon Larry!

Thank you Thad..!!

However that is not a Paddy Wagon.....despite it appeareance....

This is a 1954 Dodge Power Wagon Canadian Radio Communications Command Vehicle ......ours is based on the M43 ambulance truck ..other than the factory addition of the 4 windows in the box and a single rear door instead of the normal two ....it is virtually the same truck as the M43. ....when we took it to the car show after he got it ..man that thing is really cool and totally badass ..bet driving down the road you get all kinds of attention and thumbs up..!!.....WEELL yes we get waves ....and honks and not necessarliy a thumbs up...not that particular digit .... but rather universal sign language..no interpetation needed..!!!

  • The Canadian vehicles are nearly identical to the US M-Series vehicles with the exception of a different transmission (and PTO for winch models).

  • The longer 251 cubic inch flat head 6 cylinder engine was also used.

  • These vehicles all equipped with a 24 volt waterproof ignition system
  • New Process synchronized transmission
  • New Process 200 transfer case
  • 5:83 axle gear ratio
  • 230 cubic inch flathead 6 cylinder engine
  • 9:00 X 16 military non-directional tires
  • 1-piece flat hood
  • Top speed 40 MPH
  • 0 - 40....Eventually..!!

Total Dodge M-series vehicles produced in Canada was 4,524 and included the following models: M37CDN, M43CDN, M152CDN and M56CDN (only 6 M56CDN produced).

M37; M37B1

M43; M43B1
These vehicles were built in primarily 2 basic models, the weapons carrier (M-37 & M-37B1) and the ambulance (M- 43 & M-43B1). Earlier models, M-37 and M-43 used Douglas (metal), waterproof wiring connectors, while the M-37B1 and M-43B1 used Packard (rubber) wiring connectors. M-37 spare tires were mounted in the pickup box, while the M-37B1 had the spare mounted on a swinging cradle on the driver’s door. All M-43’s had the spare tire mounted on the swinging cradle on the driver’s door.

Also built were several other models produced in limited quantity including: a maintenance truck (V41), command truck (M-42), and airport rescue crash truck (M-56 & M-56C). There were 110,840 Dodge M-series vehicles produced in the US

Regarding the shop fans,

I have two of these, three speed, big box store specials mounted from rafters.

I also have fan in a turbine on the roof for exhaust.

Previous homeowner had a sound studio in the garage. They added amazing insulation. Better than my home for sure.

Just gotta turn them fans off when welding because they blow my mixed gas away. LOL

I wish the fans helped with humidity tonight.
