What Size Radials Will Work on My Aero Falcon?

I bought a set of P205/75R15 tires for my '53 Aero and guess what - they're too wide! The front tires bind against the upper control arms. Not even close to fitting. Of course the previous tires were narrow bias plies. like 6.40/15.

I asked about tire size in a post last Sept. but didn't get a definite answer. So - what size radials are you running? Or is everyone running bias plies? Any help appreciated.

I cant say 1st hand, but a member of the Facebook Aero group had success with 165/80-15. There are some pretty inexpensive ones on Amazon if you wanted to give it a try.

Jess, thanks for the response. I did order a set of that size; there was ONE seller on eBay that had 165/80-15s in a narrow whitewall. They were $79 each with free shipping. This is the size that most VW Beetle owners use.

165-15 is a pretty common size, or used to be. Stock size for VW Beetles...

Michelin XAS 180HR15 fit well but are pricey, also come in VW size
