    Voltage regulator

    Hello Jeepers,

I'm having a little Problem with my Fc150

The Generator is working but the Battery will not load.
I think the Voltage Regulator is connected in the right way.
But there is a Condenser nearby the Regulator which is not connected with the Regulator, is this probably the problem?
Can someone tell where to connect the Condenser? Arm / Fld / Bat

Sorry about my English, it's old and rusty like my Car ;-)

    best regards from Germany

I think you have people confused. You speak about a condenser. Then you speak about the terminal on the voltage regulator. The BATT is for the battery FLD is the field. That's the wires on the inside of the generator attached to the body ARM is the armature. This attaches to the brushes which run on the armature. I attached some scans from manual. I do not know what the condenser is for, it does not show on the drawing and I do not have one on my FC170 Mark C

    Jürgen,
The capacitor was probably put in by a previous owner.

The capacitor can help reduce electrical interference to radio equipment made by the regulator.

See section 5.4 and 5.5 here:
    http://www.quest4.org/radio/reducing...terference.htm

You might have to "polarize" the regulator.

    See: http://www.oldwillysforum.com/forum/...light=polarize
