I finally got signed up here too. You may have seen me on other Jeep pages as well.

I'm Eric and I live in the metro Phoenix, AZ area with my wife. Our 19 yo daughter is attending Arizona State University.

I worked as an electrical engineer at Verizon Wireless until I retired November 1,2017. I still drive a school bus and I also still work for US Dept of Health and Human Services as a (radio) communications and IT (computer) specialist on a disaster response team.

I have a 1950 CJ3A that is mostly stock. The non stock stuff: converted it to 12 Volt electrical system; a Detroit Locker in the rear axle; a Dana Powr-Lok in the front axle; locking hubs; Warn overdrive. I've rebuilt all the mechanical and electrical stuff in this Jeep so that it (hopefully) won't let me down.

I have a 1957 FC-170 that, now I'm retired, will occupy my time. Other than new brakes, new tires and a rebuilt steering system, it's as I bought it, including the 6 volt electrical system. If you want to see it, it's at http://www.fourwheeler.com/events/1411-the-2014-fc-roundup-forward-thinking/ My wife bought me a "Christmas Story Leg Lamp" as a high award because it made it into the magazine. :)

The third old Jeep in the family is a 1964 CJ5 that is stock except for new wheels and tires (the old wheels had loose rivets !!?!!). My guess is that it is an old US Border Patrol Jeep. It has the T-98 in it, including the 4 speed shift pattern placard, the brass government data plate and a paper sticker outlining the special warranty provisions applying to government owned vehicles. I got this Jeep because my wife was driving the CJ3 so much that I hardly had a chance with it. So, she drives the CJ5 most of the time. Because I don't want my wife to be involved in a Jeep breakdown, this Jeep, too, has had all the mechanical and electrical stuff rebuilt.

Besides the Jeeps, I've been a ham operator since I was 11, I restore old AM broadcast and Short Wave radios and I also go target shooting with my wife and daughter.

Welcome from Colorado, Eric. That was a GREAT Intro post! This is the Forum to be in! John (aka: Pivnic)

Welcome from South Carolina Eric,20171125_155316.jpg I hope to find an FC 150 or 170 someday in my price range but there are not many in my area.

Welcome Eric. I think I saw your FC at a Jeep Jamboree at Airpark in 2011, but I can't find the picture on my phone right now. I'll have to look when I get home.

If it wasn't yours, it sure would seem to be related, as it looked a lot like yours.

You may have. I did drive it there...not as a part of the official show, but just to see if it would make it that far. :)
