Buying advice

Welcome from Colorado, Chris. I don't have any old CJs because I don't fit in them, so I can't give much info for them. I guess it all depends what you are going to to with it (Keep it Stock or Update/Modify it) and HOW you're going use it (Daily Driver, Truck Shows, General (easy) Off Roading, or more Serious Off Roading etc. I'd vote for the 46 as well! Is the '46 a VEC? Seems that way with the column shift but missing the tool indents in the tub.

both look like clean restos. the big question is what do you plan to do with them --regular driver, plow the driveway, bounce up into the hills or simply for leisure?

the MB speaks to a replacement engine but goes into extreme detail on what was done - detail is good.
the '46 looks good but could very well be the silk purse variety. also, on the '46, what's been re-built. if engine and drivetrain, definitely the'46 for the money. if they've not been gone through or sounds even a little specious, go the MB.

hope this helps, love them both.

Greg

I’m leaning towards the 1946 Willy column shift but There some spots on the body I’m a little concerned about because it look like rust or he painted over rust. From talking on the phone with him it sound like a reliable running Willy which is a big deal to me also there a heat which is a bonus. I’m plan on useing the 1946 Willy as a weekend truck.

C0B0845D-EAE7-49DF-93AF-89D54FCC0388.jpg I’m looking for a Willy CJ2a or CJ3a that I wouldn’t feel bad about leaving outside on the street all year round and that is reliable get in and go. I also don’t want to spend a lot of money

That looks like it would fit the bill. What's not to like? If it was closer, i'd be all over it.

I'm still partial to the column shift 46. But I suppose you need to see them both in person to see all the finer points and decide.

Hello lady’s and gentlemen
I really hate to do this but I need to have my account deleted. I’ve decided after some thought that the cj2a and cj3a are not a smart buy for me at this time.
thank you

Hi Chris. You Really Don't have to delete your account from this forum just because you changed your mind about buying a couple of CJs. You can remain a member of this Forum as you never know when another Great Old Willys Pickup Truck, a Willys Wagon, or a FC, or another Good CJ will show up in your travels that will Reignite the Willys Disease in You! Your Choice, If you really want to jump ship, you probably need to send PETE a message to Delete your Acct. Pivnic
