hi all iv been lurking in the shadows for about a week deciding if I wanted to but this only 1948 willys jeep wagon. but I'm glad I did. when we got it home the wife jumped in and starting getting to work on it. I was a bit shocked but glad she's ready for the project. luckily for me ALL the metal for this old of a willys is in SUPER shape no major rust at all frame is great floor pans also great, no work needed. bench seat only has surface rust, but mice did make a home out of it. last reg. in 1990. no rear seat no engine or trans, no gages, some emblems missing, all the windows broken, steering wheel shot. it was converted to 4WD havnt tried to see what type of front diff it has it also has duel fuel tanks. tires are bad., no spare tire.

Welcome from Colorado, Marvin. Your Wagon's body looks pretty good! Glass is replaceable. Oh yeah, Don't feel too bad, I bet that Most Old Willys Trucks came with a Load of "Rat Turds" inside! My two Willys Trucks sure did! My Pickup had Raccoons Living in it and the SMELL would just about KILL YOU! Nice pictures! Keep Taking and Posting more pictures as you make progress. Have fun starting your Old Willys Truck Restoration Journey. Pivnic

Welcome from Denver.

Your wagon is looking great.
It's also great that you have a wonderful wife that jumps right in and helps clean it out.
We all started the process with a vision by cleaning out, scraping the dirt and grease, power washing etc. It's part of the bonding we go thru and makes us happy.

Cheers, Thomas

thx all, I have a spare 360 sb with a 727 trans I plan on putting in there, as for transfer case I'm not sure of right know. will also be getting the rear bench seat so my kids will have a place to sit. also plan on line-X'ing the under carriage and interior, not sure what I'm going to do with the ceiling. we are thinking of using old road signs for interior panels. inside door handles will be made from old wrench's. there are a lot of holes in the dash which look like there is a panel put in place from an aircraft.

Apple Valley, close to the Hammers. I would love to have those black Cali. licence plates ! Good luck with the wagon, looks great.

looks like the perfect place to start!!! took me a long time to get to where you are now!!!! love the look of the FLAT GRILL! best of luck with the "new" rig

wow so its been 4 year sents i joined and wow i havnt gotten far. had lots of ups and downs, but im on a flat road hoping to hit the black top so.
iv lost a few jobs and landed a great job and now i can get to saving for the willys. i even bought a house with a garage!!.
i did get the 360 and 727 in the wagon also ended up grabbing another 727 with np203 so i can keep the 4x4 option. it also came with a front dana 44. last week i started back on the wagon and started plaining for the wiring and where its going to go.
