No progress because of other AMC projects...

Few weeks ago I made a barn find... 71 Hornet with seized engine and brakes. Got it running with "new" 232 engine.

Yes, I did fabricate all the sheet metal by my self. Rocker panels for sale werenīt good enough. They had flat areas and originals did not. They are curved to almost every direction.

Here is a pic taken during fabrication.

Juhap, Were you able to develop the proper curve or contour to match the bottom of the door (bulging out about 5mm) without the use of an english wheel ?, I have found the quality of available sheet metal parts to be very poor, I now have patterns made for left and right floor pans in three sections, and left and right inner rocker panels that should be very close to the originals with the exception of beads that will all be 14.3mm instead of the "v" formed bead. I am fabricating a dimple die to replicate the body bolt positions. After purchasing rockers from Classic 2 Current I will be returning them and fabricating my own. I think what I have will be a vast improvement on what is available now and may consider making them for resale. Your opinion greatly appreciated, you obviously have some very good fab skills, Kind regards, Jim Whyland

Dave, I can not, It may be because of my not being registered with photobucket? I'm not familiar with that service, Thanks, JIm W
