Does anyone know a company or person that shapes new corners (front/rear for the FC150.
I had heard a company named "metalshapers" in Conn. did but I got no reply form there e-mail.
Anyone have these made before?

Thanks for your time

Good question, I'll be looking for bottom corners as well for a recently acquired 1961 FC-150. Anybody have any information???

That "metalshapers" guy (metalshaper@comcast.net) is/was the only one making these corners that I am aware of:

The corners of my cab aren't really all that bad, so -- inspired by a "How It's Made" TV episode that I saw that showed a dude crafting a suite of armor out of flat steel using nothing but hand tools -- I pounded out some compound-curved pieces of steel to use as patches:

There's been mention a few times by the gang over at the Forward Forum (http://members4.boardhost.com/jeepfc/) that you can use replacement cab corners intended for a 50s-something pickup cab from a company such as LMC Trucks as a starting point. This will give you compound curved metal that's at least somewhere in the neighborhood of the right shape, that you can then more easily pound/section/weld into the right shape to use for patch panels.

Depending on the condition of your cab, at least initially resist the urge to lop off the corners completely.

Strip the paint off, clean them up real good, and truly evaluate what's left, with an eye towards retaining every square inch of metal that is rust free. Shoot for the minimum amount of replacement metal that can be grafted in in small patch pieces.

Joe, this is fantastic information, thank you for taking the time to compile all this for me!

Glad to provide it, Andrew!

You likely have already found this (from http://thefcconnection.com):

And here's my only remaining lame slideshow for any of the FC-170/L6-226 guys looking to convert from oil bath to paper element air filtration:

Oh I think I've found just about every nook and cranny on the web for FC information, I've watched your slideshows several times for tips:) Really appreciate the time you put into the slideshows. Love all the work that went into that FCConnection website as well, love the passion and looking at all the projects.
