I brought my 49 new to me 49 jeepster home today.
The first order of business is to change the seat mounting brackets. As it is right now it seems to be set up for the 5 ft 5 inch little old grandma.
I can not even fit without the wheel rubbing the extra tire that used to be my waist. I will have to move the seat back at least 4 inches to be able to drive it. (the test ride should have been filmed lol)
QUESTION:
Has anyone modified the factory seat to be adjustable? If I set it for me, there is no way the wife could drive it.
I don't want to change to buckets because the seats were just recovered and they look great.

HELP, JIM

The seats unbolt and there are multiple holes for adjustment.

I'm 6"6' and 220 lbs and fit nicely with my seat mounted all the way back.

Unfortunately there are no 'sliders' for those seats, so you and your wife may have to come to a happy medium.

Seats were not Willys ace in the hole, seems it was the last thing designed after the bean counters got done, a drunk monkey could have done better...Phil
