Hey All,
I've been toying with idea of getting a plow/haul firewood Jeep in addition to what to do with my 62 Wagon drive train that I'm removing to upgrade the Wagon to my Daily Driver. What would be the best CJ/Jeep to get that would use as much of the 62 wagon drive train (L226 motor, Dana 18, T-90, Dana 25/27 front axle, Dana 27 rear axle)? Every thing runs with no issues that I know of and was thinking of CR'ing it but getting a CJ kinda appeals to me.

Great idea,this CJ forum

There isn't one.
Your 226 parts are only good for trans and diff parts, not the whole units, but the transfer is mostly the same as any 4 cyl Cj3B or 5. That's about the simple version of it.

Yup, what he said.
The 226 won't fit in a flat fender or even an early 5.
The axles are too wide, etc, etc.
Even the T-90 won't go in a CJ without changing the input shaft. That T-90 needs to stay with the 226.
The D-18 can bolt into a CJ but there are dozens of them out there. Everybody has at least one extra. I have three. Sigh - no market for them. :(

So I'm guessing my best option for parts transfer is another wagon or the truck except for the rear axle?
