1955 Aero Custom Front suspension swap

Has anyone done a front suspension swap on the old Willys? I am looking for Ideas. I am thinking of welding in a straight axle and doing a 4 door gasser, but if there are other options. since this suspension doesn't allow for a SBC to fit in really well.

I have a full 98 mustang running gear in mine. Works great. power steering, power disk brakes, 302. basically, only the body is Willys.
Find a wrecked one (mustang) and go for it.

There are options. S10s share the same wheelbase and can supply a complete chassis. Mustang II front crossmember and suspension kits are readily available to weld in. But the original setup can be adapted. Check out this excerpt from Nov 1956 Hot Rod magazine. They cut the tie rod and bridged it
