Where was your Willys today?

I've been wearing the same thing. Been thinking that in any other situation, the stores would likely be calling security or police.
Went into my bank once wearing my full face motorcycle helmet. Was asked to remove it. When I asked why, was told all banks require face to be exposed. From Rocket's experience, I'm guessing the rules have changed.
Oh and Rodney, that's a very good look for you. ;)

Yeh. Joe it hides most of the grey hair. Rodney

No self respecting western bank robber uses a double action. :)
Very nice weapons though.

And that is why i would go in with my Repro Black powder 1851 Navy Colt Cap and Ball revolver in .36 caliber... :):)......a Hoot to shoot..!!)

though i am sorta thinking bout getting a 1858 Remington Revolver in either .36 or .44.....and then just have a couple extra loaded cylinders on hand

(similar to Preacher in ...Pale Rider.)

Same pistol I've been thinking about.
Who can forget the Man with no Name, Preacher.
You residents of AZ can buy anything.

Lincoln hiway, Lincoln? Did you go through Ophir? My folks lived in Lincoln when I was born. ( actually born in the old Roseville hospital that’s not there anymore cause it was closest hospital). They moved north a little when I was 2. I still have lots of relatives up there in Newcastle, Auburn and further up 49.

My but sits in Az, but my mind (and my truck) lives in gold country.

Glad to see the pics, thanks.

Had to run to hardware store in auburn ca. Love running the old Lincoln highway. There is a monument and a marker between Ophir and auburn.View attachment 71616View attachment 71617View attachment 71618View attachment 71619
Norm Sayler who used to own Donner Ski Ranch has been instrumental in getting all the Lincoln Highway, and Highway 40 signs and monuments installed all along the old road From Sacramento to Truckee. He also runs the Donner Summit, Highway 40 Museum in Soda Springs Ca. The Lincoln Highway is awesome. Great pictures.

Last summer I got to drive a ~200 mile stretch of the Lincoln Highway between Lincoln and Gothenburg, Nebraska for two work meetings. The only “car“ that the rental company had when I landed was a Jeep Wrangler. Talk about getting thrown in the briar patch. Great country and great people. It's a whole different world just a few miles north of I-80:

I must confess, my late father in law bob Dieterich was a past president of the Lincoln highway. And I agree a lot of amazing people and the Donner summit route is stunning. I believe their national convention is next year in Folsom. I’m afraid people are to busy to appreciate the history here in Cali.

Ophir, Newcastle, and penryn are my stomping grounds, grew up in loomis so I know the old roseville hospital well. Unfortunately Lincoln and Rocklin are blowing out with houses. I need to run bit further up towards lookout ranch and rocket for some day trips for some serenity. Maybe find some good biscuits and gravy at a mom and pops restaurant.

So to be clear, this type of vehicle would be illegal on NY & NJ parkways?

Nice pic Dan.

Joe

Yup... slab sides with no windows = commercial vehicles, banned on some roads like some of the NY and NJ parkways. BUT... if you add windows to the sides, then it's no longer a commercial vehicle and can drive on the parkways, ergo the Parkway Conversion.

These laws still exist: I saw an electrician’s Ford Econoline with a Parkway Conversion-type window kit (it only had a few side windows) on the streets of NYC several years ago, and asked the driver about it. He said it was to let him drive anywhere.
